1.      Discourse study is a general term for a number of approach to analyzing written, spoken, signed language use or any significant semiotic. That is to analyze of grammar, a content sentences, meaning, structures and strategies of written and spoken.

Jokowi calms Surakarta residents

Surakarta Mayor Joko Widodo has met with the city’s residents, explaining that his move to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election was a party decision that he had to obey. He assured them that everything would be alright if he won the election.

“I can promise you that things will be even better if I am not around,” Joko Widodo, widely known as Jokowi, told residents at Bororejo village, on Wednesday.

Hamid Sukamto, former head of the Surakarta Street Vendors Association, who attended the gathering, acknowledged that Jokowi’s style of running the city had empowered the people, especially the needy.

At the end of the meeting, Jokowi distributed rice, which he had bought with his own money. Jokowi is widely known for the improvements he has initiated in Surakarta as well as for empowering many people and showing integrity in his daily task of running the city. (dic)
